Shift Check In

Overview

Even if a community has their own check in/check out process, you still must check in and out on the Heroes app to receive payment.

 

Clicking “Ready to Go”

Two hours prior to a confirmed shift, you will need to tap the Ready to Go button located on your shift card in the My Shifts tab.

Communities will be alerted that you are preparing to travel to your shift. If your location settings are enabled, communities can see your distance from their location. This helps communities determine if a HERO is projected to arrive on time.

By not tapping Ready to Go, the community may assume a no-show, and it’s possible that they will re-post the shift for different applicants. While we encourage communities to reach out if you have not signaled your readiness, every community may handle these situations differently. Therefore, tapping Ready to Go is HIGHLY recommended.

 

Checking in

If location services are turned on, the Heroes application automatically checks you in once you are within 300 feet of the location pin (via Google Maps). Alternatively, you can tap the Check In button on the shift card.
